Welcome to Nassau County! I invite you to discover some of New York’s best kept secrets. Nassau County is home to the most beautiful beaches and parks in the world, exciting attractions, and a rich history and culture. Nassau County has the perfect combination of year-round attractions and special events for every season. Nassau County is the ideal place for the sports fan, whether you prefer to watch or be a part of the game. Long Island’s only major professional sports franchise, the New York Islanders, calls the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum home. You can also see the New York Dragons, a professional arena football team, in action at the Coliseum. Within just a few yards of each other, you can play a round of championship golf or watch a competitive swimming tournament at the world-class Aquatic Center at Eisenhower Park. Nassau County offers you the opportunity to be a part of the crowd at the renowned horse racing venue at Belmont Race Track, site of the world famous Belmont Stakes, play a leisurely game of tennis, baseball, or soccer at many of our active parks, fish in the Long Island Sound or the Atlantic Ocean, or hike through the pristine beauty of our many acres of nature preserves.
Nassau County is the perfect vacation spot for the family. My family and I especially enjoy visiting the Long Island Children’s Museum, a hands-on museum experience that is fun for all ages. You can go back in time to the 1800’s at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration, explore Theodore Roosevelt’s summer home at Sagamore Hill, discover Long Island’s air and space history and view an IMAX film at the Cradle of Aviation, or just spend quality time together on one of our magnificent beaches.
If nightlife, dining, shopping, culture, and the arts are what you are searching for, then you have come to the right place. Nassau County is home to numerous premier shopping centers. There are many venues in Nassau that offer different varieties of musical or cultural experiences, including the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater at Eisenhower Park, the Broadhollow Theatre, Jones Beach Theater, and the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, to name a few. You can tour the mansions of the Gold Coast era that inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby or peruse the breathtaking works of 19th century American and European artists at the Nassau County Museum of Art. You can finish your day of shopping, music, or culture with a unique dining experience at one of our many exceptional restaurants and then retire at your choice of fine accommodations or spend the night on the town!
Here in Nassau County we have something for everyone all year round. Whether you are a Long Island resident who wants to learn about the heritage of your birthplace and indulge in our rich and exciting culture, or an out-of-County resident who wants to explore, I invite you to discover Nassau.
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Suozzi

Welcome to the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau website.
As Suffolk County Executive, I am pleased that you are considering a visit to Long Island – whether for business, for pleasure or a mixture of both.
Suffolk County, the eastern two-thirds of the geographic island, is one of the most diverse regions of the country. Suffolk is rich with hotels, restaurants, culture, shopping, nightclubs and entertainment venues, but also offers a number of quaint and charming villages and plenty of quiet places to get away from it all.
Although home to 1.5 million residents, Suffolk County – with its expansive vineyards and wineries on the north fork of the island – is the leading agricultural producer in terms of dollars in New York State. And the maritime and fishing industries on all of our waterways continue to be a vital part of our economy and heritage.
From a hopping Hampton’s nightspot to a relaxing sail on the Long Island Sound, Suffolk County truly offers something special for every visitor.
Naturally, being an island, we look to the water as a source of recreation and relaxation, for everything from swimming and surfing to fishing and boating. Long Island’s Atlantic Ocean beaches on our south shore are world renown, while the north shore provides access to the scenic Long Island Sound.
Suffolk County’s extensive parks system combines the best of active and passive recreation, ranging from challenging, professional quality golf courses and rugged hiking trails to quiet camping spots and bridle paths. Our investment in the future has saved tens of thousands of acres of open space, for environmental and drinking water protection as well as to ensure we maintain the delicate balance between growth and preservation.
Settled by the Dutch and English, Suffolk County is rich in history and culture: from Revolutionary War sites and early Native American influences to the Gold Coast mansions of the Gatsby era and the many storied lighthouses. Plus, we offer some of the best sports, recreation and entertainment venues around. Easily accessible by road, rail or air, Long Island has been ranked by Forbes magazine as being the safest region in the country.
If I sound proud of all Suffolk County has to offer, it’s for good reason. Suffolk County is the place where I grew up. The quintessential suburban lifestyle I knew, which featured carefree days at the beach, bike rides through town and picnics in the park, is still a reality here in Suffolk County.
I am confident you too will have fond memories of your time spent here on Long Island. Sincerely,
Steve Levy
