Ferries
Long Island is served by two year-round ferry lines that cross the Long Island Sound, connecting Port Jefferson to Bridgeport, Connecticut and Orient Point to New London, Connecticut. To visit Fire Island, the car-free island, hop on one of the six ferry routes to the different parts of Fire Island. You can also travel between the North Fork and the South Fork of Long Island through Shelter Island via two short ferry rides at Greenport or North Haven. Call for current schedules and rates.
